He was predeceased by: his father Henry John; his wife Judith Frances Jordan Bendel; his children, Juddy Roth Bendel, James Dennis Bendel and Janis Denise Bendel Bowen; and his siblings, Alfred Bendel, Eugene Bendel, Gerald Bendel, Marilyn Bendel Anderson Ludwig and Sister Mary Bendel Phyliss.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Hutson (Bill), Bill Bendel (Brenda), Nancy Jo Schultz (Jim) and Marda Davis (James). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, along with many extended family.
