She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Strickland; her children, Tommy Elden Dement, Leo Edward Brown, Jr. and Wanda Jean Strickland Howton; her siblings, Charlie Pruitt, Ed Pruitt (Karen) and Rene Reed (Floyd); and her sisters-in-law, Mary Kate Strickland Presley (Chuck) and Evelyn Strickland Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Albert Lee Dement and Connie Hopkins (James); her stepdaughter Melissa Strickland; and her siblings-in-law, Dumpie Pruitt, Irvin Ross Strickland, James Ray Strickland (Margaret Ann) and Douglas Wayne Strickland. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
