She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Daniel Smith, Sr. and Rebecca Sanders Smith; and her daughter Sabrina Jevita. She is survived by: her husband Deacon James Perkins, Sr.; her caregivers, Dr. Chudy Okoye and Etta; her children, Remigia Nordé (Roger), Mayor James Perkins, Jr. (Cynthia) and Synethia Pettaway (Collins, Jr.); her grandchildren, Vernetta Walker (Darrell), Reginald Rutledge (Tina), Justin Perkins (Regina), Tiffini Chandler (Brandon), Collins Pettaway, III, Jarius Perkins (Amber) and Candice Celeste Pettaway; her sisters, Harriette Nellum and Alice Martin (Johnny); and her godchildren, Dr. Tracey Shannon (Jack), Sabrina Crooke (Theodore), Margaret Swift, Reverend Marvin Thomas and Monika Jackson. She is also survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
