With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ernestine Elam of Selma, Alabama, who passed away on June 18, 2020 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Calvin C. Elam; her parents, John Linton Covey, Sr. and Ernestine Barnes Covey; her son Ernest Calvin Elam; her siblings, Virginia Molene Covey and John L. Covey; and her nephew John Covey Capell.
She is survived by: her daughter Sylvia Elam Zeigler (Stephen M.); her sister-in-law Nancy Covey; her niece Diane Covey Cymbalak; and her great-nephew John Anthony Covey. She is also survived by friends and those friends.
Due to COVID-19, the family asks that everyone in attendance follow social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
