She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Mordecai Whetstone and Della Eunice Dobbins Whetstone; her husbands, William Francis Cosby, Sr. and Dr. Herbert Nall Carmichael; and her siblings, Henry Mordecai Whetstone, Jr., Emma Lewis Gober, David Dobbins Whetstone, Sr., William Lee Whetstone and Mae Dobbins Dickinson.
She is survived by: her sons, W. F. "Noopie" Cosby, Jr. (Susan) and Ben F. Cosby (Katherine); her grandchildren, Drayton Cosby (Johanna), Mary Alise Snyder (Michael), Kelli Alfreds (Matt), Hayes Spivey (Jay), Katherine Griffin, Benjamin Dobbins Cosby and William Browder Cosby; and her great grandchildren, Mary Pearson Cosby, Drayton Cosby, Jr., Hudson Cosby, Lillian Alise Snyder, Sebastian Alfreds, Rollie Alfreds and Sloane Alfreds.
