He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Helms and Clyde Helms; his daughter Patricia Sides; and his sisters, Ruth H. Wheeler and Shirley H. Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Helms; his children, Ron Helms (Sheila) of Montgomery, AL and Cindy H. Green of Cheyenne, WY; his son-in-law Charles Sides of Selma, AL; and his sisters, Mary Morgan, Martha Lawson (Jimmy) and Cornelia Stone (Tommy). He is also survived by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
