It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Celia Alison (Selma, Alabama), born in Oakdale, Louisiana, who passed away on December 12, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Feagin Shuptrine and Cecil Fontaine Shuptrine; and her sister Ruth Shuptrine Pettersen. She is survived by: her husband Dr. James Fairly Alison Jr. of Selma; her sister Mabel Shuptrine Baldwin of Richmond, VA; her children, Olivia Evans Alison of Birmingham, Celia Fontaine Alison of Birmingham and James Fairly Alison III (Susan) of Birmingham; and her grandchildren, James Parker Alison and Anne Fairly Alison. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
