She was predeceased by: her husband David J. W. Owens; and her grandson Rodney Alan McAbee. She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia McAbee, Virginia Pope (Eddie Ray), Charlotte Kay Dukes (Lonnie) and Kathy Lynn; her brothers, Joe Earl Potter, Larry Potter and Verlon Potter; and her grandchildren, Denise McAbee, Angie McAbee, Jeremy Dempsey, Reggie Dempsey, Michelle Pablo, Randall Dukes, David Lynn and Sharron Johnson. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
