He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Cowart and Stella Cowart; and his daughter-in-law Patricia Somonski. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Smith Cowart; his children, Miranda Grimes of Seale, AL and Richard Cowart of Seale, AL; his siblings, Betty, Bill and Donald Ray Cowart; and his grandchildren, Leta Beth Jernigan (Jonathan), Veronica Nelson (Tracy), Jordan Finley (Dakota), Trucker Grimes and Ashton Grimes. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
