It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus Jordan (Seale, Alabama), born in Hurtsboro, Alabama, who passed away on October 3, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Moses Jordan, Sr. and Fannie Peoples-Jordan; his siblings, Mose Jordan (Jannie), Cassie B. Jordan (Annie Mae), Eddie Jordan (Edith), Johnny "Sam" Jordan and Edith Lloyd (Rozell); his son Keith Jordan; and his grandson Demarius Jordan.
He is survived by: his wife Lillie Jordan of Hurtsboro, Alabama; his children, Anita Tolbert of Phenix City, Dr. Jannie Jordan of Fort Mitchell, Dr. Christi Butler (Edward) of Odenville, Alabama, Harvey Jordan (April) of Columbus and Kelcey Jordan (Rhonda) of Valley, Alabama; his grandchildren, Alisha Phillips, Travis Davis (Christina), Brittany Green, Adrienne Millogo (Phillipe), Demarkus Jordan, Davion Jordan, Tabitha Jordan, Jakiah Jordan, Keyona Parker, Daressa Andrews, Christopher Andrews (Francine), Cody Howe and Summer Howe; his siblings-in-law, Clara Samuel (JoAnn Williams) of Hurtsboro, David Pugh, C. Pugh of San Diego, Willie Pugh (Regina) of Chula Vista, Joseph Pough (Christine) of Columbus and Clarence Pugh (Isdra) of Montgomery, Alabama; and his cousins, Mary Glenn of Detroit and Clara Kate Taylor of Union Springs, Alabama.. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
