He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Claude and Edna Delilah Davenport Chitwood; his wife Marjorie; and his siblings, James Chitwood, Katherine Chitwood Howard and Francis Chitwood Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Anne Watford (Rodney) of Orlando, Bobby of Columbus and Tim Chitwood (Virginia Causey) of Columbus. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
