He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marcus Wells, Jr. and Katie Bush Wells; and his siblings, James Marcus Wells, III, Glenda Danielson and Debra Wells.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Baker Wells; his children, Joël Wells Johnston (Jimmy) of Smiths Station, AL, Carrie Wells Horne (Keith) of Auburn, AL and John Wesley Wells, II (Wendy) of Auburn, AL; his sisters, Brenda Wells Orr (Dave) of Richmond, VA and Becky Wells Ivey (Leo) of Phenix City, AL; and his grandchildren, Allison Horne, Madison Horne, Ansley McCall Wells and Katelyn Johnston. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
