He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Wilkerson and Annie Lee Odom Wilkerson; his wife Barbara Wilkerson; the mother of his children Josephine Hudson Shipes; and his siblings, Jay Hugh Wilkerson, Millard Wilkerson, Mack Wilkerson, Betty Holt, Eleanor Burdick and Edna Boland.
He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Wiggins (Robert) of Fortson, GA, Tammy Wilkerson of Dothan, AL and Tina Dykes (Jon) of Newville, AL; his stepchildren, Melissa Waldman, Lisa Lemons, Michelle "Shelly" Scrushy and Michael Goskie; and his close friend Doris Mauldin. He is also survived by several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
