He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Lyles (Eddie), Sherman Hightower (Annette) and Jerald Hightower; his wife Catherine Hightower (Howard); his grandchildren, Terica Lyles, Marcus Hightower, Brianna Porch, Sherman Hightower, Jr., Jermaine Henry, Shaqueta Hightower, Kamensia Caldwell, Shidale Hightower and Chakira Lamb; and his sister Thelma Brown. He is also survived by great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
