He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert "Hawk" O. Howard and Bessie Mae Flinn Howard; and his sister Betty H. Hilliard (Jim). He is survived by: his wife Melanie Parkman Howard; his sister Martha H. Lemaire of Littlerock, AR; and his sons, Madison L. Howard of Wilmington, NC, Rev. Albert "Bert" O. Howard III and Rev. S. Russell Howard. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the John B. Amos Cancer Center in Columbus, Georgia or to a charity of the donor's choosing.
