She was predeceased by: her parents, George Melton and Gladys Melton; her stepmother Josie Anderson Melton; her sisters, Georgia Mae Melton, Joyce Melton Powell and Betty Melton Holloway; and her son-in-law Merriel Eugene Chaney.
She is survived by: her daughter Priscilla Melton Chaney; her grandchildren, Jeffery Eugene Chaney (Melinda) and Tangela Chaney Holland (Jamie); and her great grandchildren, Halen Tate Chaney, Rock Cadence Chaney and Axl Crue Chaney. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
