With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Jo Lackey of Scottsboro, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 2, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Leroy Lackey; her son Rev. Sherman Lackey; her parents, Lora Bell Yates and Robert Walls; and her brothers, Wheeler, James, Earl and Robert Walls.
She is survived by: her son Winfred Lackey (Tamela); her daughter-in-law Kathy Lackey; her grandchildren, Tonya Brewer (David), Katelynn Tilley (Austin), Penny Shrader and Samantha Lackey Ruder; her great grandchildren, Harmony Meacham (Zach), Saylor Ruder (Gracie), Addison Ruder and Hannah Shrader; and her brother Kenith Wayne Walls. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Valley Funeral Home - Scottsboro (674 Snodgrass Rd, Scottsboro, AL 35769). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
