He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elijah and Margaret "Lizzie" Daniel; and his siblings, Willie Grace Batey, Evone Holt, Franklin, Jasper Daniel and Sally Grider.
He is survived by: his wife Leck Daniel; his son David Daniel (Tammy); his siblings, Beunia Jernigan, Elizabeth Truckey and Clara Guinn (Albert); and his grandchildren, Kathrin, Olivia and JoAnna. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
