He is survived by: his wife Tammy Moore; his sons, Hunter Gilbert (Stephanie) and Matt Gilbert; his siblings, Randy Moore (Vivian) and Jo Ann Statum; his grandchildren, Benny Gilbert, Drake Gilbert, Peggy Gilbert, Lilly Gray Gilbert and Mary Hunter Gilbert; and his daughter-in-law Kindra Reeves Gilbert. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
