He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Billy" Dunklin Rives and Carrie Norris Rives; his brother William "Bill" D. Rives, Jr.; and his nephew Rodney N. Rives, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Pamela S. Rives; his children, Amanda Medley (John Robert) and Ben Rives (Tara); his grandchildren, Lillian Price, Sadie Rives, Landon Rives, Kaitlyn Rives, Harper Ready and Haydlee Carter; his siblings, Kay Stephens (Steve), Rodney Rives (Donna) and Clare Clemons (Greg); and his sister-in-law Lynn Rives. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
