With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merle Hames (Sardis City, Alabama), who passed away on January 8, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Claude Hames Sr.; her siblings, Frances Wegener and Charles Ogburn; and her parents, Ocie Ogburn and Emmie Ogburn.

She is survived by: her children, Claude Hames Jr. (Cindy) and Clare Hames; her grandson Josh Hames (Tiffany); her great grandchildren, Kyleigh and Lucas Hames; her stepgrandchildren, Wes (Ashley), Will and Dana Hopkins; her brother Gerald Ogburn; her daughter Jane Hall; her grandchildren, Nicole Evers (Kurt), Camoren Hall (Whittney) and Chosen; and her great grandchildren, Bailey, Hunter Evers, Grayson and Owen Hall. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
