He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon John and Mildred Skillman Ellison; his parents-in-law, Carl Lee and Evelyn Minyard Brannon; his son John Heath Ellison; his siblings, Howard, Harold (Dock), Walter, Jimmy Ellison, Frances Kittle and Marie Jimmerson (Roger); and his nephews, Jeremy Ellison and Mike McCurley.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Brannon Ellison; his sons, Bryon (Christina) and Brannon Ellison (Megan); his grandchildren, Kymbil Presley (Trevor), Kaleigh, Kaitlyn, Marli, Bryson, Karli, Vada, Everly and Dylan; his great grandchildren, Cai, Arlo, Brayden, Bryant, Brynlee and Breckyn Walker; and his siblings-in-law, Eric Brannon (Kim) and Diane Ellison.

John Wayne Ellison, age 73, of Attalla, after a long battle with Parkinson's was set free to be united with Jesus and to be reunited with son Heath, family, and friends.
