He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter O. Coleman and Mildred Gregory Coleman; his former wife Joy Coleman; his daughters, Holly Cable and Ginny Lee; and his sister Wynelle Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Fay Callaway Coleman; his children, Gaye Johnson (Gerald), Tim Coleman (Angie), Todd Coleman (Becca), Pamela Griffin (Earl) and Leslie Payne (Sean); his siblings, Joyce Morris (James), Rosemary Walden, Connie Millsaps (Charlie), Johnny Coleman (Barbara) and Rodney Coleman (Dorinda); and his grandchildren, Trey Johnson, Ashley Mathiesen (Thomas), Mandy Pesamoska (Mike), Tanner Coleman, Hannah Coleman, Courtney, Christian, Haley, Chase Hargraves (Heather), Cole Thweatt, Sarah Payne, Carson Payne and Tyler Cable. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; other extended family and numerous caring friends.
