It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velda Sturdivant (Salem, Alabama), born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on April 9, 2020, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Herbert Fanning and Jimmie Carol Ivey; and her siblings, Susan Rowland, Dottie Hammer and Richard Allen Rowland.
She is survived by: her husband Jeff Sturdivant; her children, Crystal Rose Melvin of Smith Station, April Nicole LeComte of Salem, Brandi Elaine Melvin of Salem, Alabama and George Leslie Melvin of Smith Station, Alabama; her siblings, Carol Fanning of South Portland, Maine and Steven Rowland (Cindy) of Smith Station, Alabama; and her grandchildren, Noah, Natali, Peyton, Abigale, Shelby, Trey, McKenzie, Jeff and Matt. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
