He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Ashburn and Virginia Cook (Rhodes); and his sister Barbara Pollstadt. He is survived by: his sisters, Nellie Emerson (Paul) and Gloria Blanton. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
