He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sandusky and Varley Estelle Sandusky; his son Jonathan Sandusky; and his siblings, Ottie Sandusky, Wayne Sandusky and Carolyn Ferguson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Ruth Sandusky; his children, Stephen Sandusky and LaShea Gilbert (John Gilbert); his grandchildren, Olivia Sandusky (Kyle Duke), Brooklyn Gilbert (Branden Warren) and Logan Gilbert; his sisters, Sherrie Gail Nix (Thomas), Jayne Sandusky and Betty Cribbs (James); and his sisters-in-law, Sue Sandusky and Jenny Sandusky.
