He was predeceased by: his parents, Stuart H. Dykes and Bertha Mae Perkins; and his stepmother Phyllis Sadlowski Dykes. He is survived by: his wife Carol Rojas Dykes; his siblings, James Dykes and Phyllis West; his daughters, Deborah Misiag of Williamsburg, Virginia, Karen Case of Sedona, Arizona and Susan Campbell-Phaneuf of Ojai, California; his grandchildren, Ryan Misiag, Jaclyn Misiag and Lindsay Campbell; and his great grandchildren, Hailey and Douglas Misiag.
