He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Taylor Fretwell; his granddaughter Ashley Murray; his parents, James Bascomb and Lassie Fretwell (Smith); and his siblings, Bobby Fretwell, Charles Fretwell, Larry Fretwell, John Fretwell, Shirley Canup and Gladys Cornett.
He is survived by: his children, Tina Murray (Jeff) and Chris Fretwell (Kari); his grandchildren, Christopher Fretwell, Haven Fretwell, Jacob Fretwell, Adam McCluskey (Paige), Alex McCluskey (Lauren), Masen Willingham, Morgan Willingham (Braden), Maggie Willingham Moore (Logan) and Hunter Murray; his great grandchildren, Samuel McCluskey, Caroline McCluskey, Hudson Murray of Mercy Murray, A. J, Indy Mitchell and Kipp Hester; and his siblings, Benny Fretwell (Kathie), Gary Fretwell (Brenda), Ronald Fretwell (Renee), Randy Fretwell and Denise Pounders. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
