He was predeceased by: his son Shannon McLemore; his brother Travis McLemore; his grandsons, James Whitman and Johnny Whitman; and his son-in-law Jerry "Punk" Whitman.

He is survived by: his wife Martha McLemore; his daughters, Christy McLemore (Billy Hood) and Melanie Whitman; his siblings, Corine Swinney, Cavylene Hawkins (Kenneth), Dorthy Winstead, Nadine Motes (Steve) and Johnny McLemore (Sherry); and his grandchildren, Cody Fisher, Courtney Fisher, Kyle Hood, Blake Whitman, Kaylee Whitman and Bailey Hood.
