She was predeceased by: her parents, Barney August and Nellie Mae Frances Holden; her son Albert Russell Ranger, Jr.; her grandson Russell Alexander Ranger; and her sister Zelma Leona Holden Hopper.
She is survived by: her daughter Dr. Jennifer Garrett; her nephews, William Hopper and James Hopper; and her niece Karen Hopper Harlan. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
