She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Gautney and Delpha Gautney; her husband Kenneth Hammond; and her siblings, Inez Whitman, Beulah Mae Varnell, Christine Blankenship and Clellon Gautney.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Whitehurst (Ron), Wendell Hammond (Amy), Nancy Sartain (Patrick) and Kaye Hammond. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
