She was predeceased by: her parents, Ottis Belue and Lena Belue; and her brother Sherall Belue. She is survived by: her husband Bayless R. Thornton Jr.; her children, Reynolds Thornton and Melissa Thornton Hicks; her grandchildren, Caleb Hicks and Austin Hicks; her great grandchildren, Madison Rae Hicks, Khole Mae Hicks, Lilly Ahna Greyson Doan and David Sawyer Colt Doan; and her siblings, Arron Belue, Dearl Belue, Gary Belue, Lannie Belue and Regina Weist of Donna Dunn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
