It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Merrill Newell (Rogersville, Alabama), who passed away on December 23, 2018, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, C. W. Newell and Mamie Newell; his wife Wanda Morgan Newell; and his siblings, Bud Newell (C. C.), Pauline English and Gerry Young.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Hooie (Alan) and Michael Newell; his grandchildren, Hunter Hooie and Devin Hooie; and his sisters, Erlene Fleed, Jean McCrary and Brenda Myrick. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
