He was predeceased by: his siblings, Chester A. B. Smith, Jr. and Martha Joan Smith. He is survived by: his wife Christine; his sons, Brad Smith (Katrina) of Selma, Greg Smith (Holley) of Robertsdale, Ben Smith (Jessica) of Daphne and Tom Birks of Robertsdale; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith of Auburn, Ethan Smith, John Haden Smith and Evan Smith; his stepgranddaughters, Hannah and Ava Purdy; and his sisters, Sarah Shaw and Rebecca Ryals (Mike). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Smith, John Haden Smith, Evan Smith, Chad Broussard, Randy Poczekaj, and Charlie Murphy, In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief Fund or Salvation Army.
