She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Grace Bell Moore Stewart and James Albert Stewart; her husband James W. Turnipseed; her daughters, Brenda Washington (Keith), Janice Brown and Dorothy Adams (Chris); and her brother James "Jimmy" Stewart (Zoki). She was also cherished by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
