He was predeceased by: his mother Ira Hinote; his wife Sherry Hinote; and his brothers, Hubert Hinote, Sam Hinote and Elmer Middleton.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Amy Hinote, Lora Ottolini, Lisa Cornett, David Hinote, Clint Hinote and Greg Hinote; and his brother-in-law Paul Wiley (Laura).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital or to the Gateswood Volunteer Fire Department.
