He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Bloomer and Mary Elizabeth Moon Nixon; his brother-in-law Strom Carroll; and his close friend Mack Diamond. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Nixon of Roanoke; his children, Chris Nixon (Dillon Potter) of St. Petersburg, FL, Phillip Nixon (Kathy) of Canton, GA, Scott Nixon of Opelika, Chad Nixon of Roanoke, Mick Daniel (Morgan) of Del Norte', CO and Renee Marshall (Bobby) of Brewton, AL; his grandchildren, Justin Marshall (Jennifer), Jakob Nixon, Jordan English (Bo) and Nicholle Malone (Drew); and his sister JoAnn Carroll of Gainesville, GA.. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Roanoke First Methodist Church. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
