She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Ceroy Clyde, Naomi Pate, Charlie Joe and Ruby Strickland; her son Jeffery Jamal Sims; and her mother Kathy Royston Pate.
She is survived by: her husband Jeffery Sims of Wedowee, Alabama.; her father Ronald Pate; her children, Cortney Sims, Andrew Sims and Persis Sims; her siblings, Kevin Pate, Viondi Pate and Naomi Pate; her nephew Antavious Marable; and her nieces, Madison Pate and Sandora Barney. She is also survived by five grandchildren; ten aunts; three uncles.
