He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Overton of Roanoke; his sons, Joseph Lee Overton of Roanoke, Jonathan Charles Overton of Roanoke and Jeremy Wayne Overton of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Jake Overton, C. J. Overton, Tommy Overton, Jeremiah Overton, Brody Bailey, Paige Thompson, Payton Overton, Mason Overton, Marly Overton, Kaitie Overton and Chris Stearns; and his siblings, Barbara Earl of Roanoke, Lucy Prather of LaGrange, Jimmy Ray Akins of Valley, Bobby Joe Overton of Roanoke, David Overton of Roanoke and Allen Overton of Roanoke. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
