He is survived by: his wife Joan of Washington; his children, Ricky (Julie) of Pinson, David of Fort Morgan, Danny (Tina) of Remlap and Leigh Karagas (John) of Birmingham; his siblings, Gary (Betty) of Birmingham and Linda Redd of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Alexandria, Mac, Stephanie, Gary, Victoria, Toby and Olivia; and his great grandchildren, Carly, Becca, Makenzy, Sam and Ben.
Donations can be made in his memory to Alabama's Natural History Museum.
