She was predeceased by: her parents, Remus Tidwell and Mary Louise Tidwell; her granddaughter Melissa Gilbert; and her siblings, Alfred Tidwell, Howard Tidwell and Margaret Blackwood.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Gilbert; her sons, Steve Gilbert (Dianne), Dean Gilbert and Paul Gilbert (Tammy); and her sisters, Juanita Edge and Mary Lou Roberts. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lemley Funeral Chapel (6878 2nd Ave W, Oneonta, AL 35121). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
