Maranda Geaneane Blakeney Obituary

Maranda Geaneane Blakeney, age 48 has gone to heaven, reuniting with her lost loved ones on June 17th, 2023.
Born in Amarillo, Texas to Janice Walker and Martin Grady Blakeney, she grew up in Burleson, Texas, and has been a long-time resident of Remlap, Alabama.
Maranda was a happy and vivacious child, she graduated from high school in Burleson, Texas in 1992. She loved to travel, spending time with loved ones, and being at the beach.
After the birth of her two sons, Miranda became a free spirit who marched to the beat of her own drum. Quality time with her sons and grandsons, brought her immense joy.
Maranda had many titles: she was a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be greatly missed especially at her much-loved Sunday family dinners. She was most proud of her family bond and living life to the fullest.
Maranda was preceded in death by her father Martin Blakeney, maternal grandparents Helena and James Walker, paternal grandparents Ronnie and Barbara Ward, and two uncles James Polk Walker, Jr. and Garland Ray Melton.
Maranda was survived by two loving sons Jordan Velve and Jacob Velve, her mother Janice Glass (Wayne Weaver), grandsons Bentley Velve and Jace Velve, a sister Michelle Bailey, a brother Martin Blakeney II (Melissa Blakeney), aunts Shawnda Potter (Chris Potter), Sandra Walker (Dennis Turner), Debra Blakeney, and as well as many, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 1st 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Her residence (Remlap Alabama).
