He is survived by: his wife Susan Russell; his daughter Amy Russell; his stepsons, Robert Pannell and Shane Pannell (Rachel); and his brother Tommy Russell. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many other family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home (2214 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Bluff Cemetery (6417 Spunky Hollow Rd, Locust Fork, AL 35097).
