Powell; her grandson Randy Byars; her siblings, Carter, Troy, Calvin, James, Dewitt, Shaden, Junior, Virgil Whitten, Louise Bradshaw and Corrine Jaynes; her stepchildren, Jerry Powell and Ann Finch; her stepgrandson Wesley Stewart; and her parents, Clarence A. Whitten and Alice Elizabeth Brownlee Whitten.
She is survived by: her daughter Brenda Byars (Charles); her siblings, Earnest Whitten, Bennie Whitten (Patsy) and Blanche Taylor; her sister-in-law Mae Whitten; her grandchildren, Ricky Byars (Karen), Monica Byars, Keith Stewart (Helena) and Christy Kohler; her great grandchildren, Ashton Ridgley (Blake), Randa Byars, Tracey Tonsmeire, Tegan Callaghan (Joe), Jessica Beard and Leah Claire Stewart; and her great great grandchildren, Paxton, Conner, Sophie and Reanna. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
