He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Blackwell and Alma Blackwell. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Blackwell; his children, Tammy Blackwell of Andalusia, Tonya Cook (Shane) of Red Level and Jody Blackwell of Red Level; his grandchildren, Cortney Blackwell, Paige Herrington (Colter), Lexie Cook and Noah Williams; his great grandchild Laurel Reese Herrington; his siblings, Jerry Blackwell (Barbara), Susie Lowery (James) and Debbie Stacks (Paul); and his brothers-in-law, Carroll Biggs (Judy), Shelton Biggs (Michelle) and Lynn Biggs (Brenda).

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Cancer Center in Andalusia, Alabama or Pigeon Creek Baptist Church Fund.
