He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurman P. Milton and Merle A. Milton; his brother Furman D. "Buster" Milton; and his son James A. "Jimmy" Milton Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Milton; his sons, Richard Keith Milton (Tammy) of Greenville, AL and Jerry W. Milton (Melanye) of Red Level; his daughter-in-law Lori Milton of Greenville, AL; and his grandchildren, James A. "Jim" Milton III of Birmingham, Clay Milton (Jessica) of Auburn, Evan Milton (Rebecca) of Auburn, Casey Milton Gardner (Cody) of Alex City, Steven Milton of Greenville, Rachel Milton Davis (Micah) of Lucedale, MS and Haley Milton Basham (Ryan) of Stephen City, VA.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the Buck Creek Baptist Church Building fund.
