He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlton John Nettles and Aline Oglesby Nettles Boyd; his wife Mary Nell Anderson Nettles; and his brothers, C. J. Nettles and Paul Nettles.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Jacob Heintz (Brittany) and Evan Heintz (Ariella); and his great grandchildren, Liam, Harrison, Lukas Heintz, Aubree Nell, Camden and Addison Heintz.
