It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verdie Whitley of Ranburne, Alabama, who passed away on May 26, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Samuel Smith and Dora Smith (Olen Whitley); her son Larry Smith; and her siblings, Velma Estelle Eady, Emanuel Huburt Smith, Beulah Mary Denny, Dorothy Rampy and Sybil Campbell.

She is survived by : her niece Mellissa Bolton; her sister-in-law Lois Noles; her stepson Couch Whitley (Sue); her grandson Chase Whitley (Brooklyn); and her great grandchildren, Clete, Cayden Whitley Pallbearers, Chase Whitley, Bryan Toole, Greg Bolton, Johnny Vise and Bo Williams. She is also survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren.
