He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Samuel and Faye Martin Smallwood; his former life partner Sylvia Smallwood; and his brothers, Mike Smallwood and Lamar Smallwood.

He is survived by : his wife Missy Smallwood of Ranburne; his daughter Charlyne Elkins of Wadley; and his stepchildren, Tiffany Nelson of Roanoke, Denise Gaddy of LaGrange, GA, Samantha Decker of Ranburne, Chris Williamson of Roanoke and Billy Haynes of Anniston. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
