He was predeceased by: his brothers, Houston H. Houlton and Robert F. Houlton. He is survived by: his wife Mannie T. Houlton; and his children, Roianne H. Conner, Libby H. Jackson, Roy H. Houlton, Jr. (Janet) and Rebecca H. Weston (Keith). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, as well as 16 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grady Church of Christ Building Fund in his memory.
